Hey! I am JP, a Product Designer based in London.
I’m a Senior Product Designer with over 15 years of experience in visual design, product design, research, strategy and accessibility.
I’m passionate about applying user-centred design to uncover customer needs, solve complex problems, and design digital products that deliver meaningful, measurable impact for people.
My skillset includes:
Product design
Crafting UX/UI, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design systems with usability and accessibility at the core.
Service design
Designing seamless multi-platform journeys and impactful service blueprints.
UX and product strategy
From roadmaps and priorities to OKRs, design sprints, and testing new ideas.
Design facilitation
Design and facilitate workshops that spark ideas, unlock solutions, and bring teams together.
Research
User and stakeholder interviews, persona development, mindset mapping, and competitor analysis.
Photography and video editing
Love to capture moments through photos and videos, then using After Effects to craft short, engaging stories
More about me
I’m Jonathan Pickup-JP to pretty much everyone I meet. I’m a super curious, creative, fun-loving, and proactive product designer who genuinely cares about people and customers. Whether I’m working in a team or designing for users, I always keep them at the heart of what I do. Huge team player, always questioning everything, and constantly challenging myself. As someone once said: you always need a JP on your team.
I studied Multimedia Design and Graphics at the University of Bath, then dived into agency life, working with a range of clients before taking a year off to travel through Australia and New Zealand, chasing adrenaline and adventure.
Back in the UK, I transitioned to client-side work at Aviva, evolving from a UI designer into a full-fledged senior product designer. I thrive in fast-changing markets, creating products that balance business goals with real human needs—always with curiosity, creativity, and a touch of humour.
